Take Mary Poppins, add in some Dane Cook, and one part Mr. Rogers and you can begin to describe Patrick Maurer, a dynamic speaker who empowers audiences of all ages throughout the United States and Canada.  Whether facilitating a team building session in a classroom or keynoting an event for thousands in venues as large as Six Flags Magic Mountain, Patrick keeps audiences engaged, combing his experience as a high school English teacher and his improvisational performance background with Comedy Sportz. His passion and his unique blend of humor, heartfelt stories, insightful observation, and pop culture lingers with audiences long after the presentation ends.

Patrick graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University and is a proud member of the National Speakers Association.  Patrick returned to San Jose, California to complete the Single Subject Teaching Credential Program at San Jose State University. While taking education courses, he also studied improvisational comedy for a year before becoming a cast member of Comedy Sportz San Jose where he performed family-friendly improvisational comedy for four years. Patrick taught English at a local high school constantly finding new ways to make material connect to students lives before leaving the classroom to create PMaurer Communication LLC.

Patrick's keynotes are a great way to kick off or conclude a leadership conference, engage and impact the student body at your school, and/or energize and inspire your organization. His stories are authentic, personal, and purposeful, tied together to provide a message that not only connects, but also resonates with the audience. Patrick's speeches are customized to meet your organization or school's needs. Some examples include "Testing the Limit" for academic kickoff or state testing, "Seniorize This" for graduating seniors, "Celebrate" for anti-bullying/campus climate, and "Be A Hero" for a student leadership conference. Audiences emerge feeling refreshed and motivated, having experienced both laughter and occasional tears, with a greater belief in themselves and those around them.

With a background that includes serving as a Link Crew leader, class president, HOBY Ambassador, conflict manager, and Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Key Club International, Patrick's presentations to student leaders are deeply rooted in real life experience. His workshops cover areas such as communication, recognition, teambuilding, goal setting, and creativity.

Patrick has served as a facilitator on both high and low ropes courses and in retreats and brainstorming sessions working with student and corporate groups. He can facilitate your group through an hour-long meeting or through a multi-day retreat.
