 BRENT SCARPO has over twenty years of experience as an educator, producer, writer, director, and casting director in Hollywood. Scarpo directed and produced theeducational documentary film, Journey to a Hate Free Millennium. The film explores hate in modern society and focuses on the Matthew Shepard tragedy, the draggingdeath of James Byrd, Jr., and the student shootings at Columbine High School.Since October 1999, the Journey to a Hate Free Millennium educational program has been presented in all 50 states as well as over 10 countries. This program has beenpresented at colleges and universities, high schools, middle schools, community eventsand conferences, to a growing audience of over 1,000,000 people.  In addition, Scarpo has presented his program for hundreds of conferences including the national and California NEA, COVA, South Dakota High School Counseling and NMSA to name a few.
Scarpo has developed and presented diverse subject matters with positivemessages to our world through film and television projects, books, specialpresentations, exhibits, and motivational speaking events. His newest programs areentitled, "Why Do You Hate Me?" a presentation that looks at how students sabotage their personal success; "The Road to Hollywood – Careers in the EntertainmentIndustry" a program that looks at the various career choices for college students considering a job in the entertainment industry,"Last Call" a unique look at the issue of alcohol, drugs and sexual assault at colleges and universities and finally Mama D – a program/video designed to teach servant eadership and community service.
Prior to Brent’s speaking career, Scarpo founded the non-profit organization, New Light Media and worked in the entertainment industry in Hollywood. He served as a casting director for six years, casting motion pictures, television projects, commercials, infomercials, and many more. He has worked on such films as THE SHAWSHANKREDEMPTION, THAT THING YOU DO, AIRFORCE ONE and MATILDA. Furthermore, Scarpo wrote and was featured on he ABC Christmas Special, CHRISTMAS MIRACLES.
