Jane Jenkins Herlong has been described as; funny, entertaining, inspirational, motivational, a talented singer and delightfully Southern.  But her life did not start out that way.

Maybe because she was a tomboy and raised on a Lowcountry, South Carolina tomato farm and worked in the fields.  Maybe it is because she was told that she was Dyslexic and would never attend college or afford the tuition.  Maybe because she was told that she was no "beauty queen." Yet, ironically, that may have been the best thing that ever happened to Jane because she was determined to prove every label wrong.

With money earned from working in her father's tomato fields and the reward of a college grant, Jane graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor's degree in Sociology, voted her college's high honors and pursued graduate studies in Public Administration at The College of Charleston. From there, Jane won the coveted title of Miss South Carolina and walked the runway of the Miss America Pageant.

And from then until now, Jane has accomplished plenty-inspiring audiences all over the country and abroad as a nationally known motivational humorist with the highest earned speaker designation of Certified Speaking Professional. She is also an award-winning professional singer, recording artist, published author and newspaper humorist. Her articles have appeared in Guidepost Magazine, Successful Farming and Jane was featured on the cover of Baby Boomer and Today's American Woman magazines. Jane authored the book, Bare Feet to High Heels; You  Don't Have to be a Beauty Queen to Be a Beautiful Person.

Clearly, Jane's humor and can-do attitude inspires people to reach for their absolute best. You will laugh as Jane shares her original Southern humor with stories laced with success principles and punctuated with her magnificent singing.

Jane has been praised for being one of the most versatile speakers on the platform with her skills as a keynote speaker, professional singer, concurrent session speaker, after-dinner entertainment, partner's program speaker, Vespers Service leader and is also a popular youth speaker.

Traveling throughout the United States and abroad, Jane has recorded two Gospel Cd's, four Cd's of her presentations and a CD of Big Band classics entitled, Favorites. Jane has performed at Radio City Music Hall and for countless professional baseball and basketball games with her spectacular rendition of the National Anthem.

Jane is active in her church and community and serves on the Parent Board of Clemson University, Commissioner for Piedmont Technical College, Chariperson of the Foundation Board of the National Speakers Association and serves on the Foundation Board of the National Speakers Association. 

Married to Thomas Herlong and the mother of two, Jane reside on the family peach farm.
