What allows one person to overcome fear and uncertainty which can quickly paralyze another in a world that refuses to stay the same? What inspires one person to see opportunities where others might only see road blocks? What happens if that person decides he is willing to fail, but unwilling to quit?
In Scott’s unique presentation, Vision, Mindset and Grit, using his physical paralysis as a visual metaphor, he shows individuals and organizations how to overcome their challenges and achieve extraordinary results. Scott’s Bio:
As a young adult, Scott was passionate about sports and was a top-ranked champion having his last fight broadcast by ESPN. After finishing high school, Scott’s heart was set on playing for legendary coach Bobby Bowden at Florida State University. A football scholarship wasn't offered, but rather than give up on his dream, Scott enrolled as a "walk-on" wide-receiver. His skills and determination earned him a place on the team and that year FSU went to the Peach Bowl, beating North Carolina 28-3.
Scott’s life took a dramatic turn in November that year when he was involved in a serious accident while a passenger in his friend’s car. This one moment in time would change his life forever. The accident left him paralyzed from the chest down and diagnosed a quadriplegic. The medical world offered little hope that he would recover or go on to lead a productive life. Despite this grim prognosis, Scott forged his own path by continuously setting and achieving goals in his rehabilitation that few thought possible.
After a year-long absence, Scott returned to both college and the world of sports while still coping with his physical limitations. He trained and competed in wheelchair marathons and full contact wheelchair rugby, aka Murderball, a Paralympic Sport.
After completing his degree in finance, Scott sought a career which would give him a lasting and meaningful impact in people’s lives. He chose the world of insurance and financial planning as his platform. In his fifth year as an agent, he qualified for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, a 100% commission driven award that less than 8% of agents around the world achieve yearly.
Within a year of that experience Scott made the gut-wrenching decision to leave a hugely successful career in an industry he had so much passion for to team up with his brother who had an international idea. Together they founded Global Golf Group, a company marketing custom blended fertilizers to golf courses exclusively into Southeast Asia. Their enterprise continues to thrive today.
